I love to look for the best in everything, and experiencing the best of each season is no exception. For me, winter always means heading up into the mountains, and discovering places where the magic of winter’s snow and frost abound. Here, trillions of frozen crystals offer an enchanting experience that I find to be unequaled throughout the rest of the year.
Recently I read that Finland once again topped the list of the happiest countries in the world. In fact, most of the top 10 happiest countries were all nations that were known for long snowy winters. Understanding the magical power of Rime Ice (pictured above), Hoar Frost and all of the other creations made from Winter’s delicate diamond dust,
I would not be surprised if cold snowy winters played an undisclosed role in the happiness rankings of these frosted Nations.
And so, now that it is once again time for many of us to usher in Spring, I want to share my gratitude for the Wonders of Winter. I am grateful for all of the frozen crystals that create the magic of this season, but most importantly I am grateful for all of the water that they redistribute across our Earth’s surface. For without the moisture carried by these majestic crystals, we might not have enough water in our rivers and soils to give us the Joys of Spring.
