Finding the Magic…

If I had but one week left to live, I would spend it focusing on the Magic of Life.
I would celebrate what it means to be human and how fortunate we are to be able to choose how we act and react to the world around us. I would remind myself that my body is an amazing organization of trillions of cells that miraculously work together to offer me the experience that I call Life!

I would cherish my family and friends and acknowledge that they give an inconceivable meaning to every aspect of my life. I would look with awe at the vastness of the Sea and the Sky and see wonderment in the Earth’s Geological Monuments. I would observe and cherish Nature’s ever changing Seasons, and acknowledge the beauty of these marvelous cycles. I would take the time to listen to the Song Birds and allow my mind to delight in their symphonies. I would eat from the Earth and savor the mouth-watering morsels that evolve from each seed. I would look closely at each plant, flower and fin, and honor the mathematical language from which so much of life is formed.

And finally, I would look at the young and the innocent of all species, and celebrate the unique gifts that each of them is destined to bring to this world. Then I would sit back and spend the rest of my time thanking our Creator, and offer my heartfelt glory, honor and praise for “The Magic of Life!”

Note: not knowing when that week will begin, I find that there is only an upside to beginning this practice now!
