As the sun sets, I ask myself “Was I fully alive today?
Were my heart and mind united in all that I said and did?
Did I savor and appreciate every moment and every aspect of being alive
on this amazing planet ?”
Regardless of my answers, I am inspired when I stop and ask these questions.
For the questions alone, remind me how precious each day is.
They encourage me to live life to the fullest tomorrow!
They remind me that each day is a “one of a kind, kind of day” and that when the sun sets, what we call “today” is gone FOREVER!!!
P.S. I took this picture of the sun setting over the San Luis Valley a year ago, while I was visiting my dear friend Christine. Together we enjoyed this sunset not knowing what twists and turns that life would bring. Then, 4 months later, Christine passed on to eternal life. This sunset truly marked the end to a day that was gone “forever”.
