“You can’t smell the roses from a galloping horse” — Chinese proverb
I first came across this quote a few weeks ago, and realized that these words were exactly what I needed to hear. It seems that the pace of my life has been accelerating, as my racing mind and over scheduled life have become my galloping horse. My ever growing “To Do List” has added to this pace, along with saying “Yes” to so many new and wonderful opportunities.
Yet somehow, like riding a galloping horse, the faster I go the more difficult it is to relax and enjoy the ride.
Today, I remind myself to slow down and stop more often and smell the roses!
